I can know of no pain greater
than renouncing a truth,
while embracing a lie
just so you can live.
Force to renounce

to believe that God still speaks.
The monks would allow him to live
if he said the earth was the center of the universe.
So he surrendered God’s truth
like a castrated prophet
The truth be known
the monks could care less
about the earth
or position of the sun.
We have always feared
not being the center
of the universe.
